Specialization course in portuguese handcrafted filigree.
The course aims to enable independent practice in the design and production of two-dimensional and three-dimensional filigree pieces.
Target audience:
All individuals interested, with aptitude for manual work and proficiency in sawing and soldering techniques.
Professional applications:
Technical complementarity for jewelers.
Workshops and factories engaged in filigree work.
Skills to acquire: (theoretical knowledge):
Understand the cultural and historical-geographical context of Portuguese filigree.
Characterize Portuguese filigree.
Identify and describe equipment, tools and materials used in production.
Identify the different stages of production.
Technical-craftsmanship skills:
Master the main techniques used in filigree production for structure and filling.
Execute advanced filling techniques, including sheet metal encasing and shaping.
Create various types of ornaments and explore different finishing possibilities.
Design and produce original two-dimensional and three-dimensional pieces, applying learned techniques and incorporating decorative elements, functional fixing mechanisms and suspension systems.
